At Westview Day Nursery we aim to provide the best care for
all children.
The welfare of the children in our care is paramount and we
strive to create a homely environment.
Our objective is to allow each child the opportunity to
develop at their own pace through a carefully planned,
stimulating and happy environment, encouraging children to
practice and acquire skills so they can reach their full
potential. We will actively promote the development of
positive self image within the nursery.
Our aim is to observe, monitor and evaluate children’s
progress and to work with parents, carers and other
professionals, support the children’s families and to share
information and practical advice.
Westview Day Nursery promotes and encourages equal
opportunities for both children and adults, and take into
account the children’s needs arising from race, culture,
language and religion.. Our nursery presents a positive
picture of all cultures by use of various resources such as
toys, pictures and festivals.
Our staff, work together as a team, supporting each other
for the benefit of the children, and the nursery supports
and encourages staff training to enable them to develop more
skills and confidence within the nursery, which creates an
atmosphere that makes the child and the parent/carer happy
and comfortable within the nursery.
We put policies and procedures into practice and follow the
frame work set by Ofsted, The Early Years Foundation Stage
Curriculum.
We provide learning activities for the children in the six
key learning areas of development:
- Personal, Social and Emotional development.
- Communication, language and literacy.
- Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy.
- Knowledge and understanding of the world.
- Physical development.
- Creative development.
A broad curriculum helps the children to develop skills
such as concentration , listening, learning to socialise and
share, being able to cooperate with other children and
becoming receptive to reading, writing and number work.
We encourage children to express themselves through a
variety of creative and physical activities to develop
independence and confidence and gain more knowledge and
understanding of the world. |
